Riding Motorcycles In High Winds: Is One Hand Is Better Than Two?



I don’t care what you ride, a big weighty cruiser like the Suzuki Boulevard C109R, or a light - weight sportbike like the Ninja 250R, one of the most hard times to ride is when you have a petulant wind screaming like a banshee across the road. If it’s a steady wind you can at anterior settle into it, strike an tailor-made skinny angle, and travels. Until, of course, you come to a elevation or building or whatever that like now blocks that wind and therefrom you’ve got to quickly regain for that and the get back into your spare as forthwith as you’ve gone past the obstruction.
It’s much worse when the wind is gusty. You’re wandering along and Wham! Of course, while all this is vim on, most riders have their hands clamped onto their grips in a death grip. It would take three guys to pry your fingers loose. After all, you’ve got adrenaline response for you. This is draining and wearing and no fun at all. And hey, riding motorcycles is supposed to be fun.
Well take love, through I’m about to publish a secret to how you can make this very unpleasant situation a lot better. Let go with one hand. Oh actual, you’re saying. I’m struggling with all my might to keep the bike process where I demand it to go, using two hands, and you’re telling me to use one? Are you nutty?
That’s OK, I understand. That’s what I would have uttered, too, until I discovered this fleeting trick completely by accident. Here’s the deal. I was headed due east one day and the wind from the south was torrential. I had been through this kind of occurrence before. Once I rode an entire day across northern New Mexico with nothing screaming apart out of the north. Here’s what I figured out. You may not intend it, but when you’ve got two hand on the grips in high winds, splinter of what you’re skill is fighting yourself. You’re putting incompatible forces on the handlebar that you’re not precise aware of. Let go with one hand and now you’re just semanship the bike. And unlike when your other hand is contradictory you, the bike goes very feeble right where you craving it to go.
